Innocence Lost

Innocence Lost

Title: Innocence Lost

In a world so cold, an innocent soul
A baby boy in someone’s loving hold
With fragile hope, he entered this race
Unaware of the tragedy he would face

Discharged from the hospital, his future bright,
Unseen dangers lurked, out of sight
Despite high fever and a silent plea,
Neglected signs, no one sought to see

His heart racing like a wild bird’s song,
His tender skin bearing a rash so wrong,
Doctors turned a blind eye, failing their creed,
A life that could’ve been saved, lost indeed

In this unjust tale, no justice to be found,
A preventable tragedy, utterly profound
For a tiny life that could have thrived,
Lost forever, by negligence deprived

Keywords: innocence, tragedy, negligence, hospital, fever, heart rate
