A Struggle for Identity

A Struggle for Identity

Title: A Struggle for Identity

In South Carolina’s halls of power and might,
A bill emerges, a contentious fight,
Trans minors denied their chance to find,
Their true selves, not bound by a binary bind.

With hopes and dreams now teetering on a thread,
The House floor echoes with voices filled with dread,
Suppressing young souls blossoming in flight,
Their essential truth clouded, out of sight.

Transgender warriors rise and make their stand,
Demanding acceptance, rights across the land,
Their pleas ring loud, echoing through the floors,
Seeking justice for all, unlocking freedom’s doors.

But in a world still tethered to fear and doubt,
Trans minors face an additional, daunting route,
Denied the choice, the medicines that heal,
Their path obscured, their vibrant spirits conceal.

Yet, in this darkness, a flicker of light remains,
Hope glimmers on horizons, gently sustains,
For unity prevails, a harmony that binds,
Supporting trans youth, as their strength unwinds.
