The Illusion of Entitlement

The Illusion of Entitlement

Title: The Illusion of Entitlement

You’re being a baby, my dear old friend,
At forty-one, it’s time to comprehend,
No job, no savings, yet you refuse to see,
The consequences of your own apathy.

Reliant on your parents for every rent,
You yearn for a role that’s heaven-sent,
But opportunities knock in various forms,
Perseverance, not pride, helps us weather storms.

Amenities and luxuries you demand,
Yet with dirty hands, you refuse to stand,
Jobs “beneath” you, you haughtily scorn,
While your dreams of success remain forlorn.

Life’s struggles don’t discriminate or care,
They measure not the titles we bear,
Humility, the key to unlock our doors,
To employment and growth, it truly restores.

It’s high time to shed this illusion of pride,
Embrace the truth and start on a new stride,
No more dependency, it’s time to explore,
The depths of life’s oceans, its treasures secure.

Keywords: entitlement, joblessness, perseverance, humility, pride, dependency
