Beneath the azure sky, a sorrowing tale unfolds,
As whispers of despair echo through the distant hills,
Heartbroken, a gentle spirit bids its last adieu,
A life extinguished, its end shrouded in a tragic fall.

Giraffe’s graceful neck, once caressed by the golden sun,
Now succumbs to injuries, untimely and unjust,
Dallas Zoo weeps, their cherished treasure lost,
Memories etched forever in hearts, never to be forgotten.

Through verdant pastures and vast African plains,
Our wayward friend roamed, free in spirit, free in grace,
But fate intervened, dealt an unwelcome hand,
And stole away a precious life, leaving tears in its wake.

Now, silence reigns supreme where this gentle giant roamed,
A void left behind, a void that never can be filled,
May you find solace, dear one, in the great beyond,
Your presence cherished, your absence forever mourned.
