Shadows of Profit

Shadows of Profit

Title: Shadows of Profit

In hospitals where profit shadows light,
Medicare patients suffer day and night,
Injuries and infections take their toll,
Beneath the grip of private equity’s control.

Once filled with compassion, care, and grace,
Now silhouettes of profit chase,
The sacred oath to heal and mend,
Replaced by greed that knows no end.

Invisible hands manipulate the scene,
Prioritizing gains over being serene,
Quality eroded, standards decline,
As money dictates each crucial sign.

Bureaucracy weaves an intricate web,
Where patients, entangled, struggle and ebb,
Infections breed, resilience fades,
In the shadows, dignity slowly degrades.

Oh, where has the healing touch gone astray?
As private equity continues to prey,
Medicare recipients, vulnerable and weak,
Caught in the midst of profits they seek.

But hope lingers still amidst the gloom,
Voices rise, united to resume,
A healthcare system that truly cares,
Free from private equity’s wicked snares.
