How did we get to this point tonight?

Could it all have been resolved in time?
Was there a warning, a tensioned climb?
No peaceful attempts to reconcile
So to war it is again worthwhile?

Communication is needed very much
But Korea and the US to battle now clutch
Be it on the ground or up high in space
With spy satellites seeking evidence to base

The remnants of a once peaceful union
Have now been thrown to severe opposition
Crossing the point of no return
Making the future for all only stern

The cycle of wars needs to end now
Can’t it be prevented somehow?
A beacon of hope should rise from all these
And make way for what’s truly right, may it please
