Awakening

Awakening

Title: Awakening

At 65, I thought I could eat whatever I wanted —
Indulgent feasts, sugary treats, my desires undaunted.
But one fateful day, reality struck hard and fast,
As I woke up in the ICU, my health on a precipice vast.

In that sterile room, I pondered my life’s choices,
Recognizing that self-neglect wrought inner voices.
I yearned to embrace my remaining years with zest,
To reclaim my vitality and let not my dreams rest.

Through a battle fought, I learned the value of nourishment,
Nurturing my body and soul with care and commitment.
I swapped sugary goods for wholesome delights,
And nurtured my spirit under the starry nights.

No longer a prisoner of unhealthy cravings,
I embraced a lifestyle that ignites my inner makings.
Now, as I reach 65 once more, I celebrate with glee,
For finding a true taste of freedom and living abundantly.
