Protest Ignited

Protest Ignited

Despair turns to bravery in this act of despair,
A peaceful protest set ablaze in flames,
A cry for justice, an action loud and clear,
A defiance of the apathetic stale.

Martyrdom in mind, for what it may bring,
The protester commits, in singular power,
Demanding more than mere talk and grandiose things,
Demanding practical results in this hour.

In flames, this martyr calls out in the night,
Refusing to be ignored, her strength will be fought
Though her mortality consumed in her plight,
Her message remains burning, refusing to be forgot.

As the morning sun slowly rises in the sky,
Her plight illuminated by its golden rays,
Though her body in cold flames must now lie,
Her spirit persists, alive up to this day.

A forever reminder of her selfless act,
A reminder of courage and bravery in despair,
The protester who lit the torch and lit the facts,
In silent defiance, a message so very very clear.
