The Boiling Frog of Debt
Title: The Boiling Frog of Debt
In the land of liberty, where dreams unfurl,
Looms a mountain of debt, a perilous swirl.
$34 trillion, a weight too immense,
An economic threat, a dangerous suspense.
Silent and sly, the frog sits in the pot,
As debt boils slowly, its dangers forgot.
The water warms, imperceptibly slight,
Yet the consequences loom, an alarming sight.
Policies and spending, like flames they ignite,
As the mountain grows taller, obscuring the light.
Burdening future generations with heavy chains,
While trapped in a cycle, endless and inane.
The frog, unaware, goes about its days,
Unheeding the warnings that echo and blaze.
As cracks form beneath, ready to burst,
The repercussions could be the worst.
Will the leaders awaken, take heed of the signs,
Or will they continue, ignoring the lines?
For the mountain of debt, ever-growing and steep,
Threatens the nation, its promises to keep.
Let us remember, it’s not too late,
To change our course, alter our fate.
For a healthy economy, we must yearn,
Lest the boiling frog, in flames, we shall burn.
