Outcry of Injustice

Despair, wrongful, anguish, unavenged, grief, fury
Beneath the sun a battered life lay prone and buried
Ceaseless wails of injustice ring out through the town
Senseless death and grief with no justice to be found

Denial of the wrongful choice that took her from her home
A soulless youth in tatters as his voice did wheeze and moan
The broken mother lost to a stand off, only years away
And yet no charges standing — no pay for days gone astray

The scene his own an impish likeness that ne’er sought do right
Avert your eyes sun flows above, and worsening the blight
Though time will blur the memories of wrongs that weren’t righted
The pain still felt, the loss so real, the cries of outrage unwritten

Anguish of a nation echoes onward ever still
For in the end no justice found can soothe the bitter pill
The heartache of a broken soul, who’s child has yet to pay
The echoing fury yet remains, unable to fade away
