We Long for Justice

Calls in our hearts for a death that’s unjust,
Thoughts of justice left plentiful and too few.
Those families of Palestinian students just,
Grieve in Vermont for that which cannot be undone.

Not forgotten, but still voices must be raised,
For justice is so slowly served and often denied.
The media’s vital so that truth be praised,
So media must respond and report responsibly.

Cold, foul hands have robbed these families of light,
A burden that no one should have to bear.
But dark deeds need exposure to bring forth spite,
So that sorrow can find an answer to its care.

The world and its people may look away,
Turning from the darkness and pain that may be.
But hearts seeking justice pennant must stay,
Until justice is brought for the families of Palestinian students.
