The Three Strikes of Justice

The Three Strikes of Justice

Title: The Three Strikes of Justice

In the land of Kentucky, where bluegrass rolls,
A measure was introduced, striking three heavy blows.
With hearts wrapped in caution, the Republicans aimed
To quell rising crime and rekindle justice’s flame.

Three strikes they proposed, a resolute stand,
Against those who wander off law’s beaten path.
No mercy for the thieves, the liars, the bold,
For the safety of their people, their deed must unfold.

But amongst the fervor, questions do arise,
As justice walks a delicate line, wearing a disguise.
Do these three strikes dance within reason’s lore,
Or tip the scales of fairness forevermore?

For with each strike, a life fades away,
A chance at redemption, forever astray.
Imprisonment prevails, as freedom finds defeat,
Yet some claim this path is where justice does meet.

Oh Kentucky, land of bluegrass and freedom’s breeze,
The scales of justice sway on uncertain seas.
As the three-strikes measure looms, doubts persist,
Whispering of consequences we cannot resist.
