A Bitter Brew
Title: A Bitter Brew
A bitter taste fills the air, a tale untold,
Starbucks’ claim of ethics now stands in doubt,
For Guatemala, Kenya, Brazil unfold,
The truth behind the beans, revealed, devout.
False hope swirled within each steaming cup,
As coffee lovers sipped their morning bliss,
Unaware of the shady deals they supped,
Trust shattered, an illusion they now miss.
Ethical façade, a marketing ploy,
Profit, dominant over human care,
In distant lands, where workers toil and toil,
Exploitation’s shadows lurking there.
The coffee giant now stands as accused,
Of willful ignorance, the truth concealed,
The once-beloved brand now stands abused,
Their claim of ethics, now starkly revealed.
In this brewing storm, justice seeks its way,
To right the wrongs, where honesty yet prevails,
Accountability must have its say,
As truth unravels, falsehood’s tale assails.
