A Call to Ceasefire

A Call to Ceasefire

Title: A Call to Ceasefire

In silence he lay, ‘neath a shrouded fate,
Emerging now, with words to resonate,
Defense Secretary, his plea sincere,
For peace to prevail, and danger to clear.

He breaks his silence, from secret ICU,
To warn of further costs, both old and new,
Houthis, listen closely, relent your sway,
End the attacks, let harmony hold sway.

The Red Sea’s waters, once tranquil and calm,
Now a battleground, laced with fear and harm,
Shipping vessels, innocent, lay in strife,
Caught in the crossfire, of warring life.

Oh Houthis, reflect, on the choices you make,
For violence begets violence, make no mistake,
The cost of aggression, a permanent stain,
Choose peace and end this perilous reign.

Let wisdom prevail, over swords raised high,
Dissipate the darkness, reclaim the sky,
For unity and tolerance, let love ignite,
A world where ships sail freely, day and night.
