A Double-Edged Sword
Talks of aid, conditions put in place
An effect of the Democrats’ case
But one that holds a double-edged sword
Leaves Israel feeling quite distraught
For ‘conditioned aid’ can be a task
Politicking and labels is what they ask
A pressure meant to swiftly move
To bring about change in Israel’s view
But is this really for the best
As action is now in Israel’s quest
To change certain policies is tough
Leaves their people in a real huff
As countries have their own needs
And Israel surely is no reed
The maelstrom is where they reside
Causing tremors to all sides
But it doesn’t mean all is lost
For finding a way can be accost
A way out of the box is found
If both sides work on common ground
For capturing the ripple effect
Of conditioning the aid will detect
The outcome both for one or both
Will be seen by the setting sun’s troth
