A Fall from Grace

A Fall from Grace

Title: A Fall from Grace

In halls of power, a boss once hailed,
Paula Vennells, once steadfast and veiled,
But now, in the shadows, whispers arise,
Calls for restitution, amidst mounting cries.

A tapestry woven with promises grand,
Bonuses and pensions held in her hand,
Yet now, as the truth unfolds crystal clear,
The echoes of shame, they deafen her ear.

Return the riches, the emblems of pride,
Shred the illusion of the virtuous ride.
For with her CBE rescinded and gone,
No accolades can mend what’s inherently wrong.

The Post Office, once a symbol of trust,
Now battered and scarred by betrayal’s gust.
The jury of society seeks redress,
To heal the wounds, to cleanse the mess.

Integrity shattered, a reputation lost,
The cost of deception is counted, the cost.
A life once revered, now tainted and marred,
As Paula Vennells steps into the shards.

Yet in the depths of this tempestuous strife,
We find lessons that transcend this sad life.
For truth and honesty must reign and prevail,
To avoid the descent into a moral stalemate.
