A Flame of Peace

A Flame of Peace

Title: A Flame of Peace

In trenches deep where shadows dwell,
Soldiers seek a moment to quell,
The winter’s chill, their war-worn fears,
With fires ablaze and heartfelt cheers.

Amidst turmoil and the battle’s drum,
A tradition emerges, light and hum,
For one brief evening, hearts unite,
Bringing solace amidst the fight.

Fires flicker, casting a gentle glow,
Stars above witness this sacred show,
As pots and pans transform the scene,
Into a feast, a Christmas serene.

Turkey, love, and laughter merge,
A cherished break from the war’s surge,
Friendship brews in this foreign domain,
A reminder of hope that still remains.

Though far from home, their spirits soar,
Igniting dreams of peace evermore,
For at this moment, they share the plea,
That war ceases, and love sets them free.
