A Flame Once Bright

A Flame Once Bright

A Flame Once Bright

In a political arena, ablaze with might,
Haley and DeSantis stood to fight,
Firing shots at Trump with all their might,
For he, they claimed, did not deliver light.

The head-to-head debate, a fiery sight,
Words unleashed like arrows, fierce and tight,
Critiquing his reign, their rhetoric took flight,
As the truth of his promises came to light.

Once an ally and beacon burning bright,
Now adversaries, their paths took a different height,
They spoke of broken dreams and shattered height,
Where hope now flickered, almost out of sight.

But amidst the turmoil, a flicker of insight,
Forgiveness, redemption, alluring as the night,
A chance to rebuild, to create what’s right,
And heal the wounds inflicted without respite.

So let this debate ignite a renewed fight,
To seek leaders who stand for what is right,
With honesty, integrity, shining so bright,
Restoring our faith in the power of true might.
