A Game of Innocence
Title: A Game of Innocence
In sunny fields they gather, children true,
Chasing dreams beneath the vast, azure blue,
With laughter echoing, their spirits soar high,
But now, dear lawmakers, their game you deny.
Once free as birds, they’d dive and tackle with glee,
But now their innocence, you seek to decree.
No more do tiny warriors race and strive,
Their youthful volleys, you aim to deprive.
Football, oh football, where joy used to dwell,
Now faces a fate where countless stories will tell.
Of daring touchdowns and mighty goal-line stands,
But now, dear lawmakers, you thwart their grand plans.
Children’s dreams shattered, replaced by despair,
Their tender hearts burdened with rules, now beware,
For in this debate, their voices still yearn,
To keep the game alive, their spirits shall churn.
As sunlight fades on the playing fields of old,
A plea echoes forth, their dreams to uphold,
May wisdom guide you as you make your decree,
Let children keep playing, let them be free.
