Beneath the joyous gleam of Christmas lights,
A noble cause embraced by kind-hearted souls,
A celebration of compassion in the night,
When hope shines bright, as love unrolls.

Alas! Disruption pierces the tranquil air,
The harmony of giving disrupted, accosted,
Blind children’s dreams ensnared in disrepair,
As voices rise, compassion’s path exhausted.

The cheer that once danced in children’s eyes,
Now shrouded by discord’s bitter refrain,
A symphony of empathy turned awry,
A lamentation where unity once did reign.

Away, away this sorrowed strife,
Let empathy guide through compassion’s gate,
For in the spirit of this season’s life,
The disadvantaged deserve love, not hate.

May peace descend upon these hardened hearts,
That unity and understanding might be found,
Together, we shall rebuild what strife tore apart,
And heal the wounds, profound.
