Has cast us aside, with deep vexation.

We placed our trust in your steady hand,
To lead us forward, to understand,
But now it seems, you’ve turned away,
Leaving us in darkness, with dismay.

Our rights, we hold them close and dear,
Yet you forsake them, fueling our fear,
With every decision, a blow to our core,
Our freedoms slipping away, more and more.

We plead for justice, for your remorse,
To rectify this path, a new course,
For constitutional commitments unyielding,
Are the foundation of our nation, revealing.

SecDef Austin, let it be known,
Your actions sown, our trust has flown,
May you reflect and truly see,
The consequence of your apathy.
