A Sonnet for Honor and Mockery
Title: A Sonnet for Honor and Mockery
In the realm of politics, fierce words ignite,
Where honor clashes with brash conceit,
An unsought fight, in shadows of the night,
Where a noble cause suffers, faced with deceit.
A huckster, with venomous tongue, he speaks,
Of one who fought battles with valor profound,
The senator, honored, as the nation seeks,
A voice of reason, of courage, so renowned.
With misguided insolence, he belittles,
Casting disdain upon a hero’s name,
Yet McCain endures, as his spirit kindles,
An unwavering flame, undoused by such shame.
For in the face of disdain and disdain,
McCain’s honor glows, unyielding remains.
