A Tragic Loss

A Tragic Loss

Title: A Tragic Loss

In a bustling Mississippi poultry plant,
A young boy’s life came to an abrupt end,
The grim reaper’s touch, so harshly sent,
Leaving loved ones and a community to mend.

An unfathomable sorrow blanketed the air,
As grief and anguish echoed through the lanes,
A promising future now left tragically bare,
By the negligence that engulfed their veins.

Words cannot fully express the pain they feel,
For a life cut short, too soon to comprehend,
Yet, through their tears, they find the strength to heal,
Remembering the treasured moments they did spend.

In the aftermath, justice did intervene,
A fine imposed to remind of the loss incurred,
For no amount of money can repair the obscene,
And the grief-stricken hearts left broken and stirred.

Safety, accountability, and change demand,
To ensure no more lives are taken in vain,
So that no parent has to bury their child’s hand,
And memories of precious lives forever remain.
