“Aftermath of Warplanes”
Destruction ravages the sky,
Violence surrounds us nigh.
Conflict in the land and people cry,
Retaliation from those so high.
Retaliation is the maddening plea,
Pain around this land, we all see.
Fear has filled the atmosphere,
Many lost in sadness and tears.
Peaceful days with nothing clear,
Anguish that we still must bear.
Hopes for reconciliation gone,
Family and friends forever gone.
Hope for a better tomorrow,
A bright light to break the shadow.
In our hearts a triumphal sorrow,
Life as we once knew is gone.
A wish that peace may prevail,
Our health, our strength, must not fail.
Innocence that lost its way,
Came with hatred instead of play.
For justice we have all to pray,
For sorrow and despair we’ll pay.
A broken world we must mend,
Our loved ones, let us help them send.
Anger leads to more rebellions,
Lives destroyed in dark divisions.
Victory from our conclusions,
Hope for a better day is near.
Grief that won’t seem to be gone,
With courage we can carry on.
Politicians speak of peace,
Angry eyes respond to cease.
Let our future be a lease,
Of faith that was so fearless.
A chance for a better day,
A chance to finally be free.
