Alone in a Crowded Room

Alone in a Crowded Room

Alone in a Crowded Room

I rushed into marriage
With hopes of love’s embrace,
But now my husband’s presence
Leaves me in a distant place.

Once filled with ardent passion,
Now silence meets my cries,
His eyes see right through me,
A ghost without disguise.

I long for his attention,
For words of tenderness,
Yet my existence he ignores,
A painful emptiness.

Is this the price I’ve paid,
For rushing love’s divine?
To be unnoticed and forgotten,
In this heart that was once mine?

Marriage, neglect, loneliness, longing, emptiness, rushed
