An Insult to Our City
Title: An Insult to Our City
In our beloved city, where dreams take flight,
Where passion for sports burns with fiery might,
The Wizards and Capitals, in plans they sow,
Break our hearts with a planned exodus, a heavy blow.
For years, we cheered and stood by their side,
Through countless victories and moments of pride,
We filled the stadiums and roared their names,
But now they seek greener pastures, abandoning our claims.
The Wizards, with their magic on the court,
And the Capitals, with their puck-wielding fort,
They owe their success to our unwavering support,
Yet, they turn their backs on us, in a cruel retort.
No longer will the cheers echo in our ears,
No longer will we wear their jerseys, with cheers,
The exodus they plan is a betrayal of trust,
Leaving behind a bitter taste, turning our hearts to rust.
But we will rise above this insult, united as one,
In our city, we will find strength, and keep our passion undone,
For D.C. will always be a sports-loving town,
With or without the Wizards and Capitals around.
