Apology in the Wind

Apology in the Wind

in the stanza

Title: Apology in the Wind

Standing there with utmost respect and shame,
I see my offense from a distant flame,
I take full accountability before I complain,
I give an apology that’s sincere and plain.

My contrition is steadfast and strong,
I step away to practice discipline and learn what’s right and wrong,
Allyship is found in joy not in a throng,
This moment requires reflection for what I have done is wrong.

Empathy must be felt with urgency,
I must listen to cleanse this offense with full repentance in sincerity,
I give an apology for pushing away the mutuality,
I must seek back with full compassion my wrong infamy.

To understand I must take active steps to reconciliation,
Engagement is important to bring our relationship to fortification,
Restoration of harmony is the long term resolution,
My commitment to progress is vast and full of elation.

To give equal justice I must offer explanation uprightly,
Under the cloak of sympathy from within I must strive to forgive off-sightly,
Rectification is the ultimate goal to bring healing timely,
I apologize to the Black and LGBTQ+ members oh so lightly.

I admit my offense and want to make amends,
I seek mutual resolve to bring transformation and reformation to all my friends,
Compassion is integral so these issues do not offend,
The gratitude that comes with this is infinite in the end.
