Authenticity Revealed

In the realm where words hold sway,
A word of the year makes its way.
“Authentic,” the clarion call,
Unveiling truth, busting down the wall.

Eager for a genuine connection,
Consumers crave true reflection.
But ’twas the corporations’ sway,
That hijacked the consumer cult, they say.

Through well-crafted campaigns, they spun,
Illusions of authenticity, one by one.
A masterful manipulation, skillfully done,
As corporate America had won.

But hidden within this corporate facade,
A craving for realness, the audience applauds.
For in this world of artifice and pretense,
True authenticity remains the ultimate defense.

So let us seek authenticity’s embrace,
Rejecting false images, aching for grace.
For in unraveling the vapid deceits we see,
A chance to reclaim our true identity.

And so, amidst the tricks and the charade,
Authenticity emerges, undeterred and unswayed.
The word of the year, a beacon of hope,
Amidst corporate America’s slippery slope.
