Blanketed in White
Title: Blanketed in White
In Iowa’s heartland, snowflakes do fall,
A blizzard arrives, cancelling it all,
Events planned for days before the big vote,
Now postponed, a twist that few can devote.
Campaign buses halted, planes cannot land,
Candidates stranded, their plans turned to sand,
The caucuses near, the tension is high,
But Mother Nature has her own reply.
Snow drifts rise, covering each barren street,
Silent whispers echo, a wintry retreat,
The snowflakes dance, swirling in the cold air,
Their delicate beauty a scene to compare.
Yet under this blanket, passion still burns,
As voters prepare for the choice they will earn,
With time and patience, the snow will soon go,
For democracy’s flame will continue to glow.
So let the blizzard pass, let the flakes disappear,
The power of the people is what we’ll hold dear,
For winter may challenge, but it won’t break our will,
In Iowa’s spirit, resolve shall stay still.
