Broken Promises
Broken Promises
Sen. Tim Scott speaks out, bold and true,
Against the mayor’s words, so empty and askew.
Chicago’s students left in disarray,
A broken pledge, forever to betray.
Hopes were high, dreams were ignited,
But now they’re shattered, hopes unrequited.
Promises made, only to be forsaken,
Leaving young minds shaken and taken.
A pledge is a bond, a sacred vow,
Yet the mayor’s words proved hollow somehow.
Education, a right, denied without cause,
Leaving the future in desperate pause.
How can we build trust, when words hold no weight?
When leaders speak, with falsehood they bait.
The youth deserve better, a chance to succeed,
Not be let down in their time of need.
Sen. Tim Scott, a voice against the storm,
Calling to account those who perform.
For integrity and honesty, he fights,
For the students whose futures face darkest nights.
Let this be a reminder, not to be swayed,
By empty promises in the political trade.
For broken pledges have a lasting effect,
Leaving wounds that only truth can correct.
