Broken Promises

Broken Promises

Title: Broken Promises

In a world of trust shattered by deceit,
Promises made, but never to meet,
My sister and her ex, in their divorce decree,
Vowed to repay, yet left me solitarily.

Legal obligations, or just empty words?
Questions arise, doubts begin to surge,
A loan extended, a lifeline of hope,
Now hanging in limbo, trapped in this loophole.

Bound by law, this decree was signed,
But its worthiness fades; a broken bind,
With every passing day, my faith wears thin,
As their silence echoes, the pain deep within.

Financial burdens weigh heavy on my chest,
Their betrayal etching scars that won’t rest,
I search for solace, for justice to prevail,
For the rightful closure, for truth to unveil.

Yet, I am left pondering the depths of trust,
In the aftermath of vows turned to dust,
Will fairness triumph or fade into the night?
Will justice be served, or remain out of sight?
