Bye Bye Palm Tree

Once stood a precious palm tree,
At beloved Millbank roundabout,
But now its days come to an end,
As TfL’s eco-friendly plan works out.

Its removal broke the people’s heart,
For cycling lanes it had to part,
Provoking rage and deep despair,
At this eco-friendly plan they tear.

The once bustling place grows silent,
The saddened people had no choice,
As TfL enforced its eco-friendly plan,
The palm tree had to go without a chance.

But they should take heart at least,
For such eco-friendly plan is a must,
To give vehicle free roads for biking,
For health and safety, that is their standing.
