A truce had brought a period of reprieve,
But in a matter of a week it ceased.
Israel and Hamas reignited war,
And soon the carnage of strikes galore.

All the persons in the city of Gaza
Knew that war had soon begun anew.
Now they must all live in great fear,
Scared of the airstrikes drawing near.

Israel set out to fight with Hamas,
The hope of peace suddenly gone amiss.
The struggle turning no hope in sight,
Gone is the hope of day and night.

The inhabitants of Gaza come to despair,
Wondering when will this war, with no care,
Will be put to a long and peaceful end.
All of a sudden war seems to have no end.

People yearn once more to be free
Of the terror created from the war, you see.
The fight has turned so cruel and cold,
Testimony that peace was soon withhold.

Godspeed to all who live in Gaza.
For better days they ponder and gaza.
For now they remain in the thick of war,
Eager for a resolution to the war.
