Deadly Recall
Deadly Recall
Silent slaughter, lurking unseen,
A menace hides within the meat.
More than 6,700 pounds deemed unclean,
E. coli’s presence, a threat to eat.
An invisible specter, tainted and sly,
Slithers through fences and abattoirs.
A predator unseen by the naked eye,
A danger concealed in juicy layers.
Recall! Recall! The warning bells ring,
A race against time to save our lives.
In every bite, a potential sting,
Unseen enemy, sharp as knives.
Fear permeates through grocery aisles,
Parents ponder if their child’s next meal,
Will be safe from lurking bacterial guiles,
Or if E. coli’s touch, their health will steal.
Heed the caution, with bated breath,
For E. coli does not discriminate.
No matter the age or life’s sweet breadth,
All are vulnerable to its deadly fate.
Plead for transparency, and rigorous oversight,
May our food be pure, and free from harm.
A battle fought, with consumer’s might,
To protect against this microbial alarm.
