Destiny’s Price

Destiny's Price

Title: Destiny’s Price

On my “bucket list” it once did gleam,
To welcome the New Year in Times Square’s dream,
But as reality struck, I pondered with care,
These wishes, though grand, may be too rare.

For in the sea of dazzling lights,
Lies a fortune well out of sight.
Financially irresponsible, they say,
Yet my heart yearns for a chance, come what may.

The countdown begins, the echoes resound,
As dreams collide with the world around.
But destiny’s price, it whispers to me,
Is it worth it to sacrifice security?

The ball drops, confetti fills the sky,
Yet doubts linger as the moments fly.
These once-in-a-lifetime goals, enticing and grand,
Leave the future’s stability sinking like sand.

So I let go of fantasies, bold and grand,
And embrace the present, holding its hand.
For life’s true riches lie beyond the glare,
In moments cherished, and those we share.

Destiny’s Price will not define,
The worth of a life, yours or mine.
As we chase dreams wild and free,
Let’s remember the value of tranquility.
