Echoes of Desperation

Echoes of Desperation

Title: Echoes of Desperation

Guatemala weeps, her pleas dismissed,
Begging for aid, her hopes they resist.
Migration’s tide, an unbearable weight,
Yet salvation’s arrival remains long-delayed.

A nation seeking solace, depleted and forlorn,
Desperation’s dance, hope’s casualties mourned.
From this ravaged land, hearts heavy with fears,
Seeking refuge amidst a sea of tears.

Leaders turn a blind eye, an empty guise,
False promises unfulfilled, truth cloaked in lies.
Boundaries painted, dividing our humanity,
As souls yearn for deliverance, lost in this calamity.

Families torn asunder, hope dwindling thin,
A future unknown, a cycle they cannot win.
Yet the voice of Guatemala, unwavering and clear,
Resonates with resilience, drawing the world near.

Let compassion guide us, ending this plight,
Extend a hand of empathy, embracing what’s right.
May awareness awaken, compassion’s seed take root,
Together we can rewrite this narrative, resolute.
