Echoes of Dissent

Echoes of Dissent

Title: Echoes of Dissent

Outraged voices rise, a fierce symphony,
Columbia, once a haven for liberty,
Now muffled, silenced, pro-Palestinian plea,
Oppression imposes its cruel decree.

Faculty uproar, a resounding shout,
Rights trampled, the spirit of inquiry snuffed out,
Academic freedom, a principle devout,
Against injustice they stand, unwavering and stout.

Palestinian students, yearning to be heard,
Their narrative, denied, dismissed, absurd,
But courage finds solace in each whispered word,
Resistance, like seeds planted, cannot be deterred.

In this hallowed institution, once renowned,
Palestinian voices, suspended, no longer sound,
Yet in the hearts of many, empathy is found,
A call for justice, fierce and unbound.

Solidarity blooms, in each compassionate heart,
Unity unfaltering, in the face of this cruel impart,
Marching forward, refusing to depart,
Hope persists, a flame that will not depart.
