Elected Greed

Elected Greed

Title: Elected Greed

In the state of Jersey, where power presides,
Lawmakers gather, their own interests, they confide,
With robes and smiles, they plot behind closed doors,
Passing pay raises, while the public uproars.

They plea for sympathy, for the burden they bear,
While ignoring the struggles of those who despair,
Their wallets grow fatter, while the people scrape by,
A glaring betrayal beneath the sunlit sky.

The promises made during campaigns ring hollow,
As their self-interest triumphantly follows,
They justify their actions with a twisted dance,
Leaving the public in a disillusioned trance.

Their duty to serve, lost amidst their desire,
To satisfy their greed, they conspire,
In golden chambers, they revel and delight,
While the rest of us suffer in their spite.

Yet their actions won’t go unnoticed or unseen,
The people awaken from their passive dream,
For justice will rise and the truth will prevail,
As their selfish facade begins to veil.

No longer will we stand for their deceit,
United we rise, their corruption we’ll defeat,
With voices united, we demand accountability,
And restore our beloved state’s integrity.
