Embracing Differences
Title: Embracing Differences
In a world of diverse souls, we stand,
Yet one chooses to exclude, out of hand,
My disabled cousin, dear and true,
Uninvited to a celebration, a love imbued.
But in this heart, love knows no bounds,
For all are welcome, in smiles and sounds.
We gather not to judge, nor to shame,
But to celebrate love, our hearts aflame.
A child-free wedding, it may be,
But love and acceptance shall always decree.
Let us embrace differences, let them shine,
For in unity, true beauty we find.
Oftentimes, ignorance clouds the way,
Fearing what’s different, they keep at bay.
But to exclude one based on ability,
Is to lose a richness, a golden opportunity.
For within their hearts, a light does glow,
Brighter than any prejudice could ever show.
Let’s cast away this selfish thought,
And in its place, compassion be brought.
For my disabled cousin, with heart so pure,
Has a love to share, that will endure.
Inclusivity and kindness, let us honor,
For love and acceptance, both are the fervor.
To my disabled cousin, I say with pride,
You’re invited, so kindly set aside,
Amidst the laughter and joyful cheer,
Together, we’ll celebrate, without any fear.
For love knows no barriers, no divide,
And our unity will forever reside.
