Fostering Fear
Fostering Fear
In Leeds’ halls, chants of hate took flight,
Targeting students with venomous might.
A Jewish soul, merely nineteen years,
Haunted by taunts, drowning in tears.
A campus should be a haven, serene,
Where knowledge blooms and minds convene.
But prejudice reared its ugly head,
Rendering safety a mere illusion instead.
Grant Shapps’ daughter, brave and true,
Withdrew from a module, one she’d pursue.
For witnessing bigotry’s vile display,
She chose to protect, to find a new way.
Injustice strikes with a weight unclear,
Yet, unity can combat the diabolic sneer.
Let’s stand with the wounded, provide solace,
And eradicate darkness, where hatred once had a place.
For the young student, fear shall not bind,
Together, we rise, solidarity we find.
So let our voices resound, strong and loud,
Ensuring no one’s spirit is shrouded in doubt.
May love and compassion guide our way,
To create a world where acceptance holds sway.
Where diversity’s strength unifies,
And fear and hate ultimately demise.
