Fragile Truce: A Beacon of Hope

Fragile Truce: A Beacon of Hope

Fragile Truce: A Beacon of Hope

In the realm of chaos and despair,
A flickering light pierces the air,
A respite sought in midst of strife,
A call for healing in every life.

Israel and Gaza, locked in disdain,
A legacy of sorrow, burning pain,
The U.N. Council, a voice of might,
Resolves for peace, to end the fight.

A moment granted, a fighting pause,
A chance for kindness, to temper the cause,
Aid shall enter, like rain in a drought,
To mend wounded hearts, to quell inner doubt.

A rare abstention, the U.S. vote,
Silent statement, a decision to float,
A show of conscience, a stance to be heard,
A plea for unity, to mend what’s occurred.

Let this fleeting truce, a flickering spark,
Ignite compassion and leave a mark,
For in these moments, with darkness in wane,
Hope for resolution takes hold again.
