Hollow Veto

Hollow Veto

Title: Hollow Veto

In shattered streets, where sorrow weeps,
Gaza’s tale unfolds, a tragedy so deep.
Countless lives are torn apart,
As violence rages, tearing at the heart.

Drones dance above, a haunting sight,
As darkness shrouds both day and night.
Children hide in fear, their innocence erased,
Lost in a war that cannot be embraced.

Their pleas for peace echoing in the air,
But deafened ears respond with empty stares.
Words, like whispers, fall on deafened ground,
As the world watches, without a sound.

The power of nations, politics at play,
Humanity’s plight cast aside, day by day.
With each veto cast, a ray of hope fades,
Leaving behind scars that never abate.

How long will this tragedy be allowed to unfold?
With every life lost, compassion grows cold.
Let empathy guide us, hand in hand,
Until peace, like a beacon, illuminates this land.

For Gaza, we pray, for healing and grace,
As resilience shines through with an unwavering embrace.
May the day come when violence will cease,
And love and compassion finally find their place.
