In the Shadows of Household Tasks

In the Shadows of Household Tasks

Title: In the Shadows of Household Tasks

Household chores, they come aplenty,
Each demanding attention, every penny.
But in Nigella’s heart, there exists one’s reign,
A loathed duty, causing disdain.

Dusting, mopping, and laundry galore,
She tackles them all, from ceiling to floor.
But a chore untouched, a cursed foe,
Its name whispered, as if a distant echo.

The task in question, oh how it haunts,
A bitter taste in her mind it flaunts.
With dread and disgust it does persist,
The chore that she simply can’t assist.

To scrub the grease upon each plate,
To bear witness to smudges, oh how great,
For this domestic duty, she’d gladly evade,
In her sanctuary, cleanliness betrayed.

With cooking prowess, her true delight,
She escapes the realm of endless fight.
Searching solace in flavors bold and bright,
She roams the kitchen, like a poet at night.

Oh, Nigella’s aversion to this task unmet,
Defiantly expressed, her deep-held regret.
Yet, in her kingdom, she flourishes still,
Boundless talents, her truest skill.
