Indiana University Caves to Political Pressure

In the ivory towers of knowledge and thought,
A tenured professor now faces a daunting drought,
A victim of the ever-tightening grip of politics,
Leaving academia caught in its treacherous mix.
Silencing dissent, stifling intellectual might,
Indiana University succumbs to this unjust plight.

Once a bastion of free expression and exploration,
Now bowing down to the demands of false sedation.
A scholar’s voice muted, her words erased,
As power dictates truth and bigotry takes its place.
The pursuit of truth, now deemed a radical act,
Indiana University’s integrity now under attack.

Academics and students baffled by this decision,
For in the realm of education, should there not be vision?
To encourage dialogue, exchange of diverse views,
Not to silence voices that may challenge our views.
But alas, the power play reigns supreme,
Leaving the academy tarnished, lost in this extreme.

We must question the motives behind this suspension,
For what purpose does it serve? What is its intention?
Is it to shield fragile egos from uncomfortable truths,
Or to protect privilege when it comes under use?
The integrity of education hangs in precarious balance,
