Innocence Betrayed

Innocence Betrayed

Innocence Betrayed

I don’t think she was a devious person,
But who am I to decipher the truth?
A delicate dance of love and pain,
A story that unfolded in the darkest of truths.
She needed help, her illness consuming,
Yet I, her daughter, felt the weight of doom.

A bond once strong, now frayed and torn,
A reflection of tangled webs weaved.
What do we really know of another’s soul?
A veil of deceit skillfully conceived.
Through secrets and lies, darkness did grow,
Leaving redemption a chance to be seized.

Under the shadow of a mother’s illness,
I longed for a simple life, a chance to breathe.
Bound by a fate I never wished for myself,
With each passing day, my spirit did seethe.
But in the depths of despair, I found resilience,
And a strength that no one could ever conceive.

Now I walk through life, a freed gypsy soul,
Leaving behind the pain that once controlled.
For in the face of deception, I reclaimed my truth,
Unraveling the secrets, life’s mysteries I unfold.
Though scars may remain, I stand tall and whole,
Bearing witness to resilience untold.
