Innocence Lost
Innocence Lost
In quiet streets where shadows play,
Where trust was built on fragile clay,
There dwells a tale of dark dismay,
As innocence begins to fray.
A daughter’s path, once pure and bright,
Now stained with choices veiled in night,
Her actions cast a somber light,
Unleashing darkness without respite.
Thrown bricks and cement through neighbor’s pain,
A discordant dance, wrought of disdain,
Leaving scars not easily slain,
And haunting peace like a ghostly bane.
Ex-Tottenham boss, his heart in knots,
Watching his child lose what she hath brought,
Despair entangled with deepest thoughts,
As consequence unfolds, a storm is sought.
An absent presence in the court’s embrace,
Escape or fear, etched upon her face,
Her absence now a trespass, leaving no trace,
Yet justice lingers, refusing to efface.
In regret’s wake, a lesson to be learned,
To cherish grace and bridges unburned,
For once erased, trust can ne’er be returned,
This tale of innocence forever spurned.
