Jobless Struggles

image generated by AI inspired in the poem

Despair is closing in,
Applications rising low,
Continue claims at most two years,
What future can we show?

Worries seem to come in waves,
With no help to be found,
Fears of being stuck in place,
With financial burdens abound.

Struggling wages and work so scarce,
Giving no hope today,
Children cry in disbelief,
With little to say.

Monumental stress takes the day,
Reminiscent of years gone by,
Jobless benefits far too scarce,
Are we doomed to die?

We pin our hopes on the future,
That jobs may be found,
And jobless benefits disperse,
So peace may abound.

But hope remains out of reach,
For now only filled with dread,
It’s in God’s hands tomorrow,
For jobless samaritans we pray.
