Lessons from Corporate Governance
Title: Lessons from Corporate Governance
Yale management professor, wise and keen,
Unveiling Harvard’s board’s mighty sheen,
In their failures, lessons to convene,
Guiding us to a future serene.
First, neglecting diversity’s might,
Boardrooms must shine with hues of light,
Inclusion and equity, a transformative sight,
Empowering voices, both day and night.
Second, transparency must take hold,
No secrets or shadows, but stories unfold,
With openness and honesty, a tale to be told,
Restoring trust, forever bold.
Third, independence shall be the way,
From conflicts of interests, must we sway,
An autonomous board, without delay,
Leads us to success, come what may.
Fourth, competency must fill each seat,
Not just titles and names for a meet and greet,
Expertise and knowledge, skills that compete,
For wise decisions, they’re the heartbeat.
Fifth, accountability, a resolute stance,
Eliminating excuses, embracing advance,
Each member responsible for their stance,
A unified front, a solid finance.
Lastly, fostering an environment of learning,
Continuous growth, innovation discerning,
Adapting to changes, no bridges burning,
Progress and evolution, always yearning.
Diversity, transparency, independence, competency,
Accountability, learning – golden keys to see,
Unlock the potential, our path set free,
A future of governance, blessed and immersive.
