Miracle in the Sky
Miracle in the Sky
Clouds dancing, skies so high,
Gambia’s team prepared to fly,
Africa Cup of Nations their aim,
A chance to rise and claim their fame.
Moments of pride, dreams in their eyes,
Up above where ambition lies,
But fate had a wicked plan in store,
Testing their strength to the core.
Minutes ticked, tension grew,
Oxygen fading, panic ensued,
Their flight, a metal bird of hope,
Now suffocating, they frantically grope.
Ex-Man United player, once so strong,
Now felt the pain that lingered long,
Extreme dizziness, headaches sharp,
Their dream, about to tear apart.
With utmost courage, the pilot’s plea,
“Prepare for landing, swiftly we must be,”
A bumpy descent, hearts in throats,
Safety they craved, uncertain of hopes.
Touching the ground, with a collective sigh,
The squad was saved, the stakes were high,
Miraculously, escaping the jaws of fate,
They landed with relief, gratitude innate.
In unity, they rallied strong,
Survivors of a journey gone so wrong,
Resilience their armor against despair,
They vowed to carry on, to dream, to dare.
