To play the same game and look to succeed,
Occidental Petroleum might have a takeover to heed.

With oil a vital commodity and gas essential to buy,
Ownership of an asset to increase success must try,
Exxon and Chevron have done their part,
Perhaps Occidental needs a needle-moving acquisition start.

Gaining a foothold in the marketplace is always the goal,
To make more profit and prevent shortfalls must keep a hold,
A big acquisition of assets is what the company needs,
For Occidental Petroleum to be on the lead.

The hunt for the perfect target is underway,
To ensure the success of Occidental this play must stay,
A bigger presence in the oil business is the goal,
Exxon and Chevron could soon follow making Occidental whole.
